Module Description
The module begins with the main lesson, where students explore two different animal defense mechanisms: camouflage and chemical defenses. They’ll start by creating a model of an insect and explore how it can be camouflaged in different types of habitats. This is followed by a science experiment, demonstrating how the bombardier beetle uses an explosive chemical spray. The main lesson sets the stage for the rest of the module, providing students with the foundational knowledge and context they’ll need to explore animal adaptations more deeply in the upcoming activities.
